This summer, we created a from- scratch kitchen at The Chronicle Cooking School's new location at the Ferry Building. This followed last year's move into a brand-new test kitchen, which gave us the opportunity to fill in the gaps in our equipment.
Creating the cooking school kitchen really made us think about what is important and what's not, and which brands of tools we prefer. We've documented it all in the accompanying checklist; it's what we consider essential to a fully functioning kitchen.
